Management and commercialisation of IP is highly dependent on the nature of the technology, the type of IP andthe commercialisation strategy.
The first step is usually disclosure by an inventor (researcher/academic) to the Innovation Office (Invention Disclosure Form attached).
The process from disclosure to commercialisation is given in the document attached on the right. Note that this process is very dependent on the nature of the technology and the protection and commercialisation strategies employed.
Note that in most cases the inventor does not need to worry about filling in forms and worrying about strategies, they merely need to contact the Innovation Office who will work with the inventor through the entire process.
